Whats the difference between serviced and traditional offices?

Moving to a new office is exciting but choosing the wrong option for your business can be an expensive venture. When it comes to choosing between a traditional office and service office, which one is better for your business?

Here, we’ll take a look at some of the differences between a serviced and conventional office. We’ll also take a quick look at some of the implications these options can have on your business.

1). Leases: A lease for a traditional office is usually fixed, which means you’re usually required to rent the space long-term. On the other hand, a serviced office’s lease is flexible. You’ll have the option to choose between a short- or a long-term lease.

Choosing a traditional office ties your business to the space for several years. In that time, you may find the markets change and all that space is costing quite a bit. On the other hand, if your business experiences a growth spurt, you’ll be stuck in an office space that’s too small. Either way, your company suffers.

With a serviced office and the flexible lease, if your business grows it’s usually possible to scale up into large office spaces. Or if your business needs to scale down, the flexible lease makes this possible, too. Your company isn’t tied to any one space long-term, which gives you the flexibility to operate no matter the market changes. In the end, you also save money by not having to pay for space that’s the wrong fit for your organisation.

2). Services: when moving into a traditional office, you’ll be required to make arrangements for each utility needed for the business. This usually means you’ll have to call and make arrangements with the water company, power (gas and/or electric) companies, telephone & Internet services, and more. On the other hand, a serviced office includes everything you need in one monthly payment. On the day you move in, everything will be set up and running. There’s no need to make any service arrangements. And all the utilities and services are included in the monthly fee. There’s nothing else you need to do. Just move in, set up and get down to work. That’s it.

3). Less downtime: when you move into a traditional office, there’s usually quite a bit of downtime involved. This is caused by packing and moving everything from the old office, then unpacking and setting up in the new traditional office, and more.

With a serviced office, here again, everything’s provided for you. All the office furniture and equipment you need will be arranged for you before you move in. Just bring in the necessary equipment, such as laptops and other devices, plugin and start working. That’s it!

You’ll save money by not having to purchase new office furniture & equipment or move furniture and equipment from the old office. It’s all done, so you and your employees can get to work quickly. Downtime is kept to a minimum, too.
