A bit about us

Life at Wizu …

Here at Wizu we have a real mix of businesses which is why it works so well. Walking into our dedicated desk space you will find a mixture of businesses from a nutritionist to a sports statistics analyst to a mortgage advisor – to name just a few. Having such a mix of people in the building creates a real buzz about the place and allows collaboration to flourish. We’ve had many success stories in our co-working community already and our clients really do benefit from the atmosphere here. But don’t take our word for it – below are a few words from some of our clients talking about their businesses and their experience of Wizu so far!

Who has Mark worked with: Mark has worked alongside another of our co-workers Jane, creator of ‘Trend Monitor’ – Mark helped create a video advertising and explaining Jane’s exciting new business model. A fellow co-worker, Asher of Ashmantoons, and our community manager Becky also helped with the video by putting their acting skills to the test and starring as extras. Sam Reid (another co-worker) has also helped Mark with advice on his marketing.

What Mark has to say about Wizu – ‘Wizu has a really nice vibe, it’s a great environment to work in and everyone’s always keen to help each other. It’s a sense of community that I wouldn’t otherwise get at home, which is what I like most of all.’

It’s time to go upmarket

Our taster week is going to be held at our brand new site The Leeming Building. This building is a major part in Leeds history and an iconic Grade I Listed Building. Located above the historic Kirkgate Market in the thriving Victoria Gate area. The building offers landmark domes and large period windows flooding the building with natural light and character. We love the versatile location, whether you’re into your traditional markets & food or your high-end shopping, you couldn’t get a workspace closer. Leeds Kirkgate Market is one of the largest indoor markets in Europe, Kirkgate is a shopper’s paradise from fresh food, drink and fashion to jewellery, flowers, hardware and haberdashery.  At the heart of the Leeds retail scene since 1857, Leeds Kirkgate Market is home to some of the most characterful traders in the city, with businesses spanning generations and representing a wide range of nationalities including a Polish delicatessen and a Chinese supermarket, an Asian Bazaar every Wednesday morning and a farmer’s market held on Briggate every first and third Sunday of the month.

If it’s pay day splurge you’re after, then Victoria Gate is the place for you! Home to well-known high-end shops such as Calvin Klein, French Connection and Hobbs you can splash the cash in no time. Not to mention the John Lewis store home to luxury brands including Hackett, Anthropologie, Cos, The White Company and Maje. All complemented by fine dining from international restaurant group, D&D, in a rooftop restaurant.  This is all on our doorstep!

Back to our Building … We have worked with the very talented Revive Spaces who designed our coworking space as well as the show stopping meeting room! RE-VIVE Spaces understood perfectly what we needed from our space having worked in coworking spaces themselves for a few years. It was the perfect fit and we couldn’t be happier with the end result! Lucie at RE-VIVE spaces: “We were thrilled to work with Wizu on their new flagship co-working space in the Leeming building and it was great to be able to put our own experience of the benefits of co-working and creative office design to use. Our aim was to create an environment that facilitated all aspects of a co-workers’ day. We went for a work/lounge like furniture arrangement that is conducive to networking as well as private work; there’s desks for solo work, small breakout tables for informal meetings or brainstorming, and comfy areas for those much needed headspace breaks. To allow Wizu to have a hub where they can host events and talks that will further propel their members to achieve great things, we created a transformable space where clever solutions allow furniture to easily be moved and dismantled. The goal for the overall finish was a place that’s engaging, fun, and high-energy yet professional. To keep workers enthused and motivated, yet relaxed and stress-free, we chose a colour pallet of contrasting pastel and bold tones with an assorted mix of plush chairs and woven rugs for that homely feel.”
