All things Leeming with Emma Valbret

Who are you and what do you do for work?

I’m Emma Valbret, 29 years old, and I work part-time in Education as well as completing a Diploma in Photography.

How long have you been a member of Wizu and what initially drew you to the space?

I’ve been a member for just under 3 years now. I initially joined because I was working remotely and I wasn’t getting out the house and seeing people most days. I wanted an excuse to come into the city centre most days and meet some new people.

How would you describe the community at Leeming? Have you made any friends or connections during your time with us?

The community is great at Leeming. I’ve met loads of people and we’re friends in the office as well as outside. It’s given me a whole new friendship group which is lovely.

We want to hear all about the juicy moments (for a coworking space!) you’ve witnessed at the Leeming Building. Any impromptu or hilarious moments that you’ve seen?

The games at social events are always fun! Leeming knows how to throw a good party!

What’s your take on the recent makeover of the coworking space and reception area?

The recent makeover is nice. The building has maintained its clean and clear look but it’s a little brighter than before which makes it a better environment for working (and not falling asleep). The phone booths have been significantly improved too, there’s plenty of daylight coming in now and it’s more soundproof than before.

If you could sum up your Leeming Building experience in one sentence, what would it be?

Welcoming and flexible (The staff and the space!).

Who’s the unsung hero or MVP at Leeming that deserves a shoutout?

Lewis. He is always helpful and has the time to check in on everyone. I’ve never seen someone be so consistent!

Wizu team note: Lewis has been an incredible part of the team at Leeming, but has taken a well-deserved promotion to manage our Eyre Street space in Sheffield!

We’ve heard rumours about the Leeming Building’s legendary new hot drinks machine. Can you confirm or deny the hype?

I’ve only had one drink from it so far- but so far so good!

Last but not least, let’s talk future plans! Where do you see yourself and your business heading next, and how does the Leeming Building fit into your grand scheme of world domination?

I’m hoping to start my own business in the future. I will definitely still keep coming to Leeming for admin days associated with the business.
