Meet the Team: Amy-Rose

Hey team! How are we doing?

We’re back with another Meet the Team profile, this time for an existing staff member who is very well known by those who grace the Wizu halls of North Leeds.

Meet, our Community Associate from Richmond House, Amy-Rose, our fashion queen!

What’s your role at Wizu? 

I am the Community Associate over here at Richmond House.

How has it been being part of the Wizu team? 

I love working at Wizu. The team feels like family and are always on hand to offer me support where needed and vice versa!

What have you enjoyed the most in your role? 

I love being able to work alongside our members and meet new people everyday, I have networked in spaces I didn’t even think would be beneficial to me. I also love putting on member events for our members and thinking of fresh and fun ideas every month.

Any notable events that you’ve been part of? 

So far my centre has hosted 2 fundraisers for incredible charities. We raised £167 for Macmillan Cancer Support and had a very successful Easter Egg Donation for Leeds Children’s Charity this last easter! 

Describe your role in three emojis

Do you have any fun hobbies or interests? 

I love all things fashion, especially second-hand clothing/thrifting and giving it a new lease of life. I have done a few ‘thrift flips’ and made my own outfits from scratch!

What’s your favourite thing about the area where you’re located? (The near-ish surroundings to our office spaces). 

We are based in North Leeds about a 5 minute drive from Horsforth centre. I often head over there on my lunch for a wonder and accidentally find myself in the bagel shop Slow Rise up there (a big recommendation!)

If you could trade jobs with anyone else on the team for a day, who would it be, and why? 

I would swap roles with Lucy and post lots of work related memes across our social media platforms…probably followed by a telling off.

Describe your work style in terms of a fictional character’s wardrobe. 

I’d like to say Rachel/Monica from friends but definitely with a touch of Adam Sandler… comfy but chic

What’s your go-to karaoke song (even if it’s a guilty pleasure)?

You can’t go wrong with a bit of Rockstar by Nickelback however after a couple of prosecco’s, the spirit of Beyonce tends to take over and I’m going for the power ballards.

What’s your secret talent or party trick that always impresses people? 

I can do the worm, which much like the Beyonce, comes out after a couple of drinks! I also have a special talent with remembering lyrics. I only have to listen to a song a couple of times and I know the words.

What advice would you give to someone considering joining the Wizu team? 

Do it !! I am so grateful to be surrounded by a team of hard-working and passionate people and incredible members within the centre.

What’s your favourite office playlist or song to boost productivity

I love putting on my carefully curated Friday playlist to get everyone in the mood for the weekend. I like to switch up the vibes everyday though, one day may be golden oldies and another a bit of indie-rock.
