A good coffee is what gives you that drive on a morning… especially on a Monday. But with Leeds bursting at its seams with independent coffee shops, it’s an incredibly hard choice to make. Whether you grab your coffee en route to work, or grab a coffee and a cookie for a mid-morning boost, we’ve selected just a few of our favourites to share with you…
Out Of The Woods
Out of the woods is a little out of the way, but if you’re willing to take a de-tour out of the city centre you’ll find they’re definitely worth the walk. Their experienced baristas produce some top notch coffee, ranging from espresso’s and flat whites, to latte’s and mocha’s. They also offer a delicious breakfast and lunch menu to keep you fuelled throughout the day.
Try: Latte or a Mork Mocha

Situated in Wellington Place, this coffee house is a firm favourite. If you’re a fan of the deep, smoky, smooth coffee you’re in for a real treat. This place is ideal for everyone, whether you’re brunching with friends or having a catch up with mum. Their extensive coffee and food menu means you’re sure to find a new favourite coffee spot. Their outdoor play area also makes it friendly for those with little legs.
Try: Cappucinno, Pick n Mix Brownie

This coffee house is incredibly popular amongst the people of Leeds, so popular in fact you may have a small wait to get a table and a coffee. But rest assured, this family run coffee shop is impeccably trained and that latte leaf will be completed to perfection.
Not only that, but the interior design is lovingly hand selected to reflect what they feel is important both gastronomically and aesthetically, creating a vintage chic heaven.
Try: Latte, Eggs Benedict or their Home Made Beans on Toast

Kronos Coffee House is a coffee house only dreams are made of. They charge by the minute, not the cup. Pull up a seat in your favourite spot and pair your coffee with a number of free treats! Crumpets, muffins, cookies, tray bakes, all included in the price. With their beans locally sourced from Cielo UK, you are sure to have a fine tasting coffee.
They also host workshops, movie nights and PS4 tournaments to ensure you make the most out of every minute of your visit.
Try: Latte (to die for) and anything from their section of sweet treats… after all it is free!

Since making their way up from Nottingham, the guys at 200 Degrees have definitely made an impression on the people of Leeds, and it shows. Every time you walk past this coffee house situated on Bond Street, the outside terrace is always packed. Having their own coffee roaster means they hand pick beans before roasting, grinding and serving them, meaning they have total control over the quality of their coffee. And it tastes divine.
Try: Macchiato, Chicken and Bacon Caesar Baguette or a Sausage Roll (sersiously, they’re so much better than Greggs’)
Find me: 31 Bond Street, Leeds, LS1 5BQ

La Bottega Milanese
Finally, our personal favourite, La Bottega Milanese. This young and ambitious espresso bar has 2 homes – 3 including Wizu Workspace! Situated in Bond Court and The Light, these cheeky chaps will hook you up with the best coffee in Leeds. Whether it’s a strong flat white to charge you through the day, a frothy cappuccino dusted with chocolaty goodness, or an iced latte to get you through these summer months, they can cater perfectly for every caffeine need.
Their Bond Court location is also perfect for those summer months, with massive screen TV’s you can enjoy your coffee (or something stronger) and watch the Wimbledon matches!
