Meet Your Co-Worker! Episode 1: Emma Valbret

Always wondered what type of members we have at our Co-Working spaces? Well, now is your chance to find out!

This is the first instalment of our new series ‘Meet Your Co-Worker’, in which we’ll be featuring our wonderful Co-Workers across the Wizu World. You’ll be able to find out what they do, why they love Wizu, and get a good laugh from some of their funny facts and insights!

Up first, we have the lovely Emma, who co-works at the Leeming Building in Leeds.

Who are you and what do you do? 

I’m Emma, I’m 28 years old and live near the Royal Armouries. I came to university in Leeds and after falling in love with the city, I decided to stay. I work as a part-time administrator for a teacher training company (remotely) and I’m also training to be a photographer. 

When did you join Wizu and for what reason? 

I joined Wizu about 2 years ago. I felt too cooped up working from home all the time so I decided to join to get out of the house. I was impressed by how flexible the memberships were and the sound of the social events!

What’s your favourite thing about Wizu? 

Definitely the community feel. It sounds cliché but there really is a Wizu community and we socialise in the co-working space as well as outside of work. It’s like working in an office with all your pals.

Do you have any notable/funny memories from your time with us? 

A notable memory was the charity quiz. I didn’t realise how badly building an Eiffel Tower out of foil could go!

Are you known for anything in your co-working space? 

Baking ☺️I live by myself so someone’s gotta eat my bakes!

Tell us one specific thing that you always have on your desk during the workday

A strong coffee… I drain the Wizu coffee machine (and the milk).

What’s your favourite song for a productive workday?

It’s not a song but the lofi hip-hop radio YouTube channel is a must if I’m editing pics. Love those chilled beats to get me through the day.

What’s your favourite member event you’ve attended so far?

Christmas drinks was really fun! Great snacks on offer too ????
