5 Resolutions for the Remainder of 2023

By Wizu | 20 November 2023

As we head towards the end of 2023, it’s very obvious that the world around us is evolving quicker every day, shaped by international, national, local and personal happenings. With ALL of this going on, the world can seem slightly overwhelming, which means it becomes more crucial than ever to give ourselves time to reflect, adapt, and prioritise.

Today we’re sharing five resolutions to reflect on and potentially guide the rest of your 2023.

A Moment for Reflection and Empathy

In a society marked by change and challenges, practicing empathy can become a powerful tool for personal growth. Take time to reflect not only on your individual experiences but also on the broader context of what’s happening in your family, circles, local community, nationwide and worldwide. Considering the collective hurdles that we all face can help give perspective and recognise a sense of shared humanity in your reflections.

Prioritise Wellbeing

Just because an event happens away from your close circle, doesn’t mean it doesn’t carry emotional weight. Think about to prioritising not just your own wellbeing, but boosting the collective wellbeing, whether this be family, friends, in the office or just with one person. Think about what you need and what you could do to create a nicer and more compassionate environment. This might involve contributing to office initiatives, being attuned to the needs of those around you, or simply just doing a coffee run in the morning! If you’re able to support the wellbeing of others, you can contribute to a more interconnected society.

Navigate Work-Life Balance with Compassion

Take a minute to recognise any additional stress that outside events might bring to the workplace. As you define boundaries between work and personal life, be sure to try and approach the task with a bit of compassion. Be understanding of the challenges that you face, but also those that your colleagues and peers might be facing. Teams who support each other and create that supportive environment can boost productivity and overall happiness.

Continuous Learning as a Catalyst for Adaptation

With constant changes happening in the world the ability to adapt can become a top skill for whether you progress or stunt. Look to embrace continuous learning as a means of staying agile and keeping on top of your game. Identify areas where you can grow both personally and professionally, with the understanding that the evolving working landscape demands flexibility and an ongoing commitment to acquiring new skills.

Set Achievable Goals

Set achievable goals based on your current reality. In a world where external factors can be unpredictable, focus on setting realistic and attainable objectives. Breaking down larger goals into smaller, actionable steps can make progress more manageable and easily measurable.

As we continue to navigate the complexities of our place in society, let these resolutions come as a touchpoint for the rest of the year, with a goal to be intentional in your actions and daily decision making.

By committing to some resolutions pre-new year, it can take the stress off of the ‘new years new me’ cliche, and can help keep you focused and positive into the festive period.

The whole Wizu team wish you the best for the rest of 2023, with the hope for a chapter of resilience, growth and festive joy.
